Dr Anita Skinner
Assistant Professor at LSHTM and Deputy Programme Director of the Infectious Diseases MSc programme
Dr Anita Skinner is currently an Assistant Professor at LSHTM and Deputy Programme Director of the Infectious Diseases MSc programme.
She started her academic career in the laboratory research of infectious diseases, completing her PhD at Cambridge before working as a Postdoctoral researcher at the NIMR in Mill Hill, The Eastman Dental Institute and St Georges Hospital. Anita became involved with antenatal education and teaching adults for 10 years. More recently returning to the Science of Infectious Diseases in the Higher Education sector.
Since becoming a Programme Director Anita has been involved in the continuing move of the Infectious Diseases MSc Programme modules from paper based, to delivery via the VLE. She advises and supports Module Organisers and tutors in developing learning materials, and assessment, to be effective tools for learning. As a PD Anita also has a wider view of student experience, she continues to instigate and facilitate initiatives to support students, with the aim of maintaining their passion for learning.
