My research focuses on sovereignty in the Arctic region. In my PhD thesis, I examined how Arctic sovereignty is perceived by state and non-state actors and how these perceptions shape the politics of the region in the frame of constructivist thinking. In a historical manner, I also conduct research and do publish on the relation between sovereignty and exploration (Springer, 2022). All these interests and questions about the Arctic made me explore another significant issue: the political representation of indigenous peoples. 

Not far from the subject of sovereignty, another research interest concerns indigenous politics on which I have publications (Springer 2022, Regards géopolitiques 2021). As my research on Arctic sovereignty raises the importance of the science policy, my further research will focus on science and traditional indigenous knowledge in making of policies in the climate change era.
