Professor Chie Adachi

Professor Chie Adachi is the Dean for Digital Education within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at Queen Mary University of London. Her research interests lie at the intersection of critical digital pedagogy, educational technology and interculturalism in re-thinking about how they might enhance teaching and learning practice within higher education.

Professor Chie Adachi is the Dean for Digital Education within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at Queen Mary University of London. She leads the new Digital Education Studio which consists of a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team of academics and professionals to carry out both strategic and operational work of transforming digital education practice for the Faculty and beyond. Her research interests lie at the intersection of critical digital pedagogy, educational/medical technology and interculturalism in re-thinking how they might enhance teaching and learning practice within the higher education sector. She has given talks and published on the matters related to digital education extensively. Her MOOC, on FutureLearn, “Transforming Digital Learning: Learning design meets service design” has attracted more than 28,000 global learners worldwide and won multiple international awards, including ‘Best Online Courses of All Time 2020 and 2021 edition’ by Classcentral.
