Sarah Sherman
Upon gaining her BSc in Psychology at UCL, Sarah began her professional career working as a primary school teacher and educational researcher for the UCL Institute of Education. She has worked in the field of educational technology for nearly 25 years and has led the Bloomsbury Learning Exchange since 2007.
The Bloomsbury Learning Exchange (BLE) is a consortium of London-based Higher Education institutions, which serves to promote digital learning strategies and practices for its institutional partners. Sarah and her team support academic and professional services staff to develop skills in the use and understanding of learning technologies. As co-author of the Get Interactive MOOC, she has first-hand experience of designing, developing and launching a course to support teaching staff acquire practical skills in learning technology within a pedagogical framework. Sarah leads an annual scheme for staff who work with technology to achieve Certified Membership of the Association for Learning Technology (CMALT), which offers professional recognition for the work they do. She has co-authored a number of book chapters and journal articles regarding the work of the BLE and its projects.
Sarah is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), a former Trustee of the Association for Learning Technology (ALT) and has founded a number of regional, national and international e-learning user groups.
