Saviour Komla Sobia Deikumah had his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of London, in August 2017. During his studies as an independent student from Ghana, he took advantage of the learning materials on the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Having studied Intellectual Property as an Elective Module with UoL, in pursuit of his career goal of becoming an Intellectual Property (IP) Attorney, he took up IP courses with the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) and was later offered a scholarship by WIPO Academy to pursue a Master’s degree in Intellectual Property (MIP) at Africa University in Mutare, Zimbabwe. Komla, obtained his Master’s degree in Intellectual from Africa University in October, 2020. He is the Vice President of MIP Cohort 12 Alumni and the President of the 2018 WIPO/SA Summer School in IP and Technology Transfer. He also holds a Bachelor's of Commerce from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana, with more than 10 years working experience in Finance, Accounting, Management and Internal Controls. He is currently an Administrative and Finance officer with the Centre for Coastal Management, in the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, where he performs various accounting, finance and administrative roles for the Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (ACECoR) project under the World Bank’s ACE Impact for Development Project. Komla Sobia Deikumah is hopeful of becoming a private legal practitioner in the next three years. He shares good testimonies of how to balance family, work and professional studies. He has been married since 2013, he has three kids.
