This unique three-year International Politics degree, taught in English in the heart of Paris, will allow you to learn the essential theories and practices of global politics while gaining international experience.

Key features

  1. Advanced theories of international politics

Develop an advanced understanding of state, non-state, governmental and non-governmental actors ‘doing’ international politics in the contemporary world. Learn how these actors perform international politics and how theories and methods can be used to understand their actions.

  2. Learning labs and field experience

Learning Labs are three-hour sessions that will allow you to experiment with different study styles, work on group projects and develop research skills. Blending traditional seminars with fieldwork will provide you with a firm theoretical and practical foundation for understanding how international politics works.

  3. A modern outlook on international politics

Study a wide range of political actions beyond institutional forms, with close attention to ‘bottom-up’ approaches, social movements and everyday politics.

  4. Study in the heart of Paris

Fully realise your academic potential while immersing yourself in French culture and society for three years. While the course is taught entirely in English, living in Paris presents countless opportunities to improve your language skills and demonstrates your adaptability and international experience to future employers.

  5. Boost your career prospects

Some of our graduates enter sectors such as government, international governmental or non-governmental organisations, whilst others transfer skills gained during study into roles such as policy research, law, activism, campaigning or a wide range of opportunities in the non-profit or commercial fields.

  6. Close ties with British institutions

The University of London Institute in Paris works closely with the British Council (we are even sharing a historic building) and the British Embassy. Our outstanding degree programmes were developed in collaboration with Queen Mary University of London – a world-renowned university for its academic excellence.

Dr Eugene Brennan, Lecturer in International Politics, discusses the BA International Politics.
