Institute of law graduation

Welcome from the centre

The Institute of Law is the Channel Islands law school, offering law teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels to local and international students. A not-for-profit educational body founded in 2008 by Jersey’s former Bailiff (chief justice) Sir Philip Bailhache, in 2009 it launched the Jersey Law Course for lawyers seeking to qualify as advocates or solicitors in Jersey.

Since October 2010, it has offered tuition to students enrolled for a University of London LLB degree. Tuition is delivered weekly by a team of experienced senior academics from UK and French universities.

The Institute is based in St Helier, the capital of Jersey, at the heart of the international financial centre.
