Hainan University was established in 1958 and is now a national university with a comprehensive offering and extensive influence on regional economic and social development. It is jointly administered by the Ministry of Education and Hainan Province.Hainan University has more than 2,500 full-time faculty members, of which more than 1,250 have senior professional titles, offering the largest number of courses for undergraduate and postgraduate (including doctoral) studies in Hainan. Currently, there are over 40,000 full-time students, including over 33,000 undergraduates, 7,000 master's students, 400 doctoral students, and 400 international students in Hainan University.
