St George’s is the UK’s specialist health university, offering a wide array of undergraduate and postgraduate courses across medicine, science, and health. 

St George’s courses are designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge for a successful career in health. In the Complete University Guide 2024, St George’s was ranked 1st for Graduate Prospects – On Track.  

Established in 1733, it was the first university to offer an accelerated four-year medicine degree open to graduates of all disciplines and has the longest running Physician Associate Studies programme in the UK.  

St George’s accomplished alumni include historical pioneers such as Edward Jenner, who created the world’s first vaccine against smallpox, to more recent alumni such as Professor Hannah Valantine (MBBS), first Chief Officer for Scientific Workforce Diversity at the National Institute of Health in Washington, DC.  

Based in a major teaching hospital, students are immersed in a professional environment from day one. You can walk from lecture theatre to laboratory to hospital ward or clinic with ease, placing students in a unique position to experience what their future working lives hold. 

The university’s excellent professional links with regulatory and funding bodies, health authorities, charities, companies and research institutes inform their teaching, keeping courses up-to-date with the needs of today’s ever-evolving health and research practices. Courses are taught by expert staff, many of whom work in various clinical and healthcare practice settings.
